Built by people who've lived the problem
BARK was founded by a team with over three decades of combined experience from senior roles at leading Nordic financial institutions. We've worked across treasury, risk, regulatory affairs, and technology, and we know what it's like to wrestle with regulatory data spread across systems that were never designed to talk to each other. Quality issues, interpretation gaps, governance headaches, all compounding with every new regulation.
So we built BARK: a platform that structures regulatory data from the source, models the impact on your balance sheet, and gives you answers with full traceability. Not another point solution bolted onto a legacy workflow, but a fundamentally new foundation for working with regulation.
An operating system for regulated banking
Managing a bank with AI is worth nothing by itself. What matters is whether it improves the bank's use of its own resources.
AI is collapsing the cost of producing analysis. In banking, the binding constraint is shifting from producing work to coordinating it safely. A bank is a dense, interconnected optimisation system: capital, liquidity, funding, risk, contracts, all pulling on each other. AI can reason across that at a speed and granularity that was never economical before. But only if regulation, institutional decisions and financial state are machine-readable and connected.
That is what we are building. Not an assistant that summarises rules, but the governed foundation underneath: authoritative regulatory knowledge with provenance, a bank's own approved interpretations as versioned objects, and one canonical model of its positions and economics. Regulatory Research is the first layer, and the way in. Each layer after it makes the next one worth more.
Our principle throughout: maximise what the machine does in analysis, mapping and optimisation, and preserve human accountability for the framework, the material decisions, the exceptions and the outcomes.
