(29)In order to avoid any risk-taking by CSDs in activities other than those subject to authorisation under this Regulation, the activities of authorised CSDs should be limited to the provision of services covered by their authorisation or notified under this Regulation and they should not hold any participation, as defined in this Regulation by reference to the Directive 2013/34/EU of the European Parliament and of the Council ¹² , or any ownership, direct or indirect, of 20 % or more of the voting rights or capital in any institutions other than those providing similar services unless such a participation is approved by CSDs’ competent authorities on the basis that it does not significantly increase the CSDs’ risk profile.
