(33)It is necessary to amend Directive 2003/35/EC of the European Parliament and of the Council 8 with a view to ensuring consistency of that Directive with the UNECE Convention on Access to Information, Public Participation in Decision-Making and Access to Justice in Environmental Matters of 1998 (the ‘Aarhus Convention’).
