(2)Regulation (EU) No 1094/2010 provides that the term of office of the Chairperson of EIOPA (the ‘Chairperson’) is to be five years and is able to be extended once. That Regulation also provides that, during the nine months preceding the end of the five-year term, the Board of Supervisors of EIOPA (the ‘Board of Supervisors’) is to conduct an evaluation and that, taking that evaluation into account, the Council, acting on a proposal from the Board of Supervisors and with the assistance of the Commission, is able to extend the Chairperson’s term.
