Recital 7

(7)In light of information obtained from the United Kingdom, the Commission prepared and presented to the European Parliament and to the Council a report assessing the international treatment of the Bank of England. That report 3 concluded that it is appropriate to grant an exemption from pre- and post-trade transparency requirements in Regulation (EU) No 600/2014 to the central bank of the United Kingdom. Accordingly, the Bank of England should be included in the list of exempted central banks set out in Delegated Regulation (EU) 2017/1799.

  1. 3 Report from the Commission to the European Parliament and the Council on the exemption for the Central Bank of The United Kingdom (‘Bank of England’) under the Markets in Financial Instruments Regulation (MiFIR) (COM(2019) 69). ↩
