Recital 29

(29)Where they have sufficient reason to believe that a supplier has not ensured the accuracy of the tyre label and in order to give additional confidence to consumers, national authorities as defined in point (37) of Article 3 of Regulation (EU) 2018/858 of the European Parliament and of the Council 11 should check whether the classes for rolling resistance, wet grip and external rolling noise displayed on the tyre label, as well as the pictograms for other parameters, correspond to the documentation provided by the supplier based on test results and calculations. Such checks may take place during the type‐approval process and do not necessarily require the physical testing of the tyre.
